With the holiday season in full swing and the latest Faces of Change campaign coming to a close, we wanted to recap the inspiring three months and thank every person who helped. We witnessed countless acts of selflessness from Digital-Tutors members and team member alike. Our families and friends went above and beyond our expectations and donated time or whatever they could to help us hit our goal.
That goal was $20,000 dollars, but also the goal of getting to know our amazing members and together, changing the world. This money will allow charity: water to fund a new drilling rig fleet and help those living without life’s most basic need: clean water.
And there’s still time to donate >> Help us beat our goal and make an even bigger impact
The mission of Digital-Tutors is to help people make movies and games, but in essence it is to improve the lives of our members and everyone involved with Digital-Tutors. We set out to change the world with our training and with our Faces of Change campaign, we’ve been able accomplish this goal for people who need it most.
We want to thank everyone who participated by uploading their picture, well over 600 people, and for those who made a donation during the campaign. We also want to thank Chic-fil-A and everyone who helped in organizing our Faces of Change night that helped raise over $300.
Throughout the campaign we also had a chance to connect with others who are helping bring attention to the global issue. One such person was an animation student by the name of Sean Cruse, who with his short has been working hard to bring attention to the crisis.
“This film was a challenging one to create, but the ability to use animation to spread the message of the water crisis has been incredibly rewarding. In the 21st century, no one should have to struggle to find clean, safe drinking water. I hope that everyone will consider donating through charity: water or another organization this holiday season to help put an end to this emergency. ”
Sean’s work has been included in six film festivals in the U.S. and Canada and recently won an award in the Collegiate Competition in the 2011 Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.
Stories like Sean’s and the many others have truly inspired the Digital-Tutors team and the kindness of so many people have made this initiative a success. We want to thank everyone again for participating and we can’t wait to continue to change the world in new ways!
